The Comic

The Specialists is the story of what might have happened if the Nazis had developed superhuman Ubermenschen during World War II. How would this affect the war? How would the Allies respond? It’s the story of super-science versus the supernatural as the war rages on in 1946.

The Creators

Al Fukalek (art) is a graphic designer and illustrator. He lives in Lakewood, Ohio with his wife and 4 cats. (And it’s pronounced “few-COLIC.”) Shawn Gustafson (words) is a computer programmer living in the Denver area. He has too much belly and too little hair. Al and Shawn met at the University of Colorado in 1990, and after a brief-but-obligatory fight scene, they soon realized that they were on the same side and joined forces to form an unstoppable comics-making team! The Specialists is their third collaboration, but the first to be revealed to the public.
